Event | #THEPOPUPPARTYDXB

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Last saturday was the much awaited second edition of #THEPOPUPPARTYDXB hosted by TheFashSet.com. Keeping reading for an insight into the event.

The Fash Set, Laugh a Minute,

My very first attendance to a fashion event as a blogger. This particular pop up party was held at the trendy a4space hall/studio in Alserkal Avenue. Alserkal Avenue is popular for all the Art and Culture Exhibitions they host regularly.

The energy around the gallery was infectious. So many artistic and creative minds all gathered at the same place. What made the event truly enjoyable for me were the individual designers and boutique representatives who were so friendly and were open to questions.

Upon entry I was treated to a yummy Chocolate chip cookie from Suzies Bakery. Pastry Chef Suzie El Salah's bakery caters to all special occasions. Give them a call place an order for some of their yummy treats.

First stop for me was the Ideyna stall. They represent local designers and artisans who handcraft unique fashion and home ware items.

At the Ideyna stall, I had a chance to speak to one of their local designers in person. Meet Jeanne, resident of Ras Al Khaimah who designs versatile ready to wear dresses. Some of her designs are multi-way and can be styled in so many different ways. Jeanne takes in requests for more personalized looks too. Check out her Instagram page here.

I loved this DIY station at Ideyna. What a superb idea to engage the clients into what your business is all about.

Next stop was Stash UAE. This had UNIQUE written all over it. What caught my attention were the rings made from repurposed electronic parts that were fashioned into miniature robot models. If you know someone who is into Iron Man or Futurama (Confession: I am way too much into Marvel movies and Cartoons), this would be the perfect gift for their birthday, Christmas or just a 'you popped into my head when I saw these'. The entrepreneur behind the brand is the lovely Stasha and you can check out all these and more eye catching pop art items here

Looking for artsy designer scarves? Go no further, millerostock has a collection of colorful one of a kind scarves. Browse the collection of scarves and turbans here.

Couldn't help but wander off to admire a little bit of Venue itself.

Satami, Burqababes

One of the things I admire about the Emirati local women is their passion for creativity. Heyam Hassm, the genius behind Satami is a gorgeous person inside and out. She has the personality that grabs your attention right away. Through her lovely designs she brings her love for the Emirati culture to life.

Satami, Burqababes

I loved this T-shirt. Going by the name 'Burqababes', this collection has the art work of Bahraini artist Jenan Badr printed on T-shirts.

The Mode Villa, Narsahsist

Ladies, I bring to you The Mode Villa. The Model Villa is a brand enhancement agency representing up and coming fashion and jewellery designers locally. I loved the above hand painted dress by Narsahsist (Narcissist, get it?) and this gorgeous vintage inspired dress by Hema Kaul. (Note: If you are a follower of Bollywood fashion, the below design was recently worn by Neha Dhupia and she rocked it. Amrita Rao is a fan too!).
