Beauty | Makeup Tutorial and GIVEAWAY Alert!

Monday, January 05, 2015

I have always been a super fan of natural looking makeup application and this happens to be my go to makeup look for most occasions where I like to look effortlessly put together. To get this look, keep reading...

Products Used:
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
Mac Prep + Prime
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade
Rest of the makeup is from Urban Deday's NAKED On The Run Palette

How to get this look:

First step before you start any make-up application is to prep you skin with a primer. I have used MAC Prep + Prime (the one with shimmer in it).

Moving on to foundation, I poured a small amount of the NARS Sheer Glow foundation (Shade: Barcelona) to the back of my hand and used the Small Duo Fibre Stippling brush (#F55) from Sigma  for application.

Brow time! Since I have dark brown to almost black hair, I mixed the Anastasia BH Dipbrow Pomade in Chocolate and Ebony for my eyebrows. Always keep your eyebrow color closer to your natural hair color.

All products here on are from the very Limited Edition NAKED 'On the Run' palette. Since this is a simple natural look, I have not used any kind of eyeshadow primer. First I applied the Fix eyeshadow (Soft Taupe Matte) all over my eyelids, below the brow bone and on my lower eye lid. Next I dabbed Dive (Mettalic Rose shadow) all over my eyelids and in the inner corner of my eyes. On the outer corner of my lower eyelids, I applied Dare (Medium Brown Matte eyeshadow). To highlight my brow bone, I used 5050 (Satin highlighter).

From the very same palette, I used the eye pencil Stag to line my upper lids generously and lined the water line slightly.

Lastly for the eyes, I applied generous coats of Perversion to my lashes. This mascara gets 7/10 from me. Good for day to day use.

Next my favorite part, Contouring! I have used the Bronzer which is matte medium brown and accentuated the same by adding the Dare eyeshadow lightly. Then applied the Blush lightly to the apples of my cheek and highlighted my cheek bones using the 5050 eyeshadow.

To finish the look off, I applied the Sesso lipgloss.

And viola! You would not need to carry so many different products in your make up on a daily basis when you have this All in One palette.

Now here's the best part. In celebration of the very first Mimo Diaries Blogiversay, I am giving away this limited Edition UD Naked On the Run palette to one lucky reader.

  1. Hello Mimo!

Make Up For Ever HD Finishing Powder is my absolute holy grail product for the entirety of 2014

This powder has changed my entire makeup-wearing game for the better. I don’t know how I lived without it. Not only does it make my skin totally shine-free and beautiful in pictures, it blurs out the look of enlarged pores and acne scars. When blended properly, it doesn’t flash back in photos. It also sets and seals my makeup like no other. No more sweating off my BB cream, even under the hottest lights or on the most humid days.

I am wondering why I hadn't discovered your blog earlier.. M going through each & every post one by one :D
Any way my most favorite holy grail make up product is the Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Mascara, its simply amazing. It doesn't clump my scanty lashes nor does it smudge and make me look like a panda because of my over watery and oily eyes and lids :p

Happy First Blogiversary to you :) :)

Totally love the glowing look! Id love to see similar looks with drugstore makeup. Also, id love it if ud post about eye makeup brushes (drugstore if possible).

I totally dig Maybelline's FitMe Concealer. I have the one by Benefit that i like too but i keep going back to that one. It does the job like a high end concealer.

    Much love!

  7. Hi Mimo,
Being a makeup addict too Im so glad I came across your blog. Your posts are absolutely lovely.

My holy grain product would be the Benefit porefessional. It works wonderfully for me, feels like silk on application and lasts me through the day. Since my skin is oily, this product gives me lasting coverage from pores and helps keep matte.
Lovely review on the Naked Run. Im just falling in love with the picture above. A beautiful product captured even more beautifully by you.
You're doing a awesome job girl! Congratulations on the anniversary!!

  16. Congratulations Mimo !!!

Your blog is such a delight to go through. I love the way you explain things so beautifully and make sure to put down extra tips. I love your caring and sharing nature that comes across so beautifully through your blog. All the pictures and segments especially this tutorial are awesome. In between your makeup is flawless and it looks very natural. I have not been very good at it but after reading your blog I feel I can do a better job now. I have never owned a naked palette and would love to get my hands on one to experiment on a new look. Thanks so much for this opportunity and for putting your soul into your blog. I am already looking forward to your other segments. Wishing you great success and many more fans. Have shared your blog on facebook, instagram and twitter because I love the way you put things across and want my friends and family to enjoy the same.

My holy grail product is the mascara impact optimal from Clinique. It sits well on my eyelashes and the best part is my eyes don't water anymore. I just can't do without it as it enhances my eyelashes which are very thin and make them more prominent.

  20. I have so many products I love!! I am big on mascara and once I tried Benefit They're Real mascara.. I have been obsessed!! I am super picky, so it says a lot about the product. However, my biggest "holy grail" product has to be Anastatia brow kit! I had my eyebrow botched for the first time ever and ran to Ulta right away! I have the brow powder (not the dip) and now that I've been filling in my brows everyday and making them look fuller, I can't believe I lived without it!! I plucked my brows so thin years ago and it makes such a huge difference!! Now I am learning better technique. I love this UD palette! I would keep it in my purse for touch ups throughout the day and it's great for travel! Thank you for the contest and congrats on your blog. I entered on IG (Pinkglitz_84)

  28. Happy Blogiversary Mimo!

I loved this entire look. Au so Naturel & pretty <3

My holy grail product is the Coastal Scents Camouflage palette! It has 10 shades, and at first I thought I wouldn't even be using 5 of them, but on the contrary I reach out to it very often! I found my perfect shade of concealer & corrector. The darker shades I actually use for contouring & highlighting. And it's the best thing for me ever! Since it saves me time & space, making it a very travel friendly palette as well. It was recommended by a fellow makeup instagramer: mryumsvanity. Highly recommend her reviews!!.
